SNAP-8 is the trade name for Acetyl Octapeptide-3, a cosmetic peptide made of eight amino acids. It is used in serums to help soften the appearance of fine lines and expression lines.
Why expression lines form
Every smile, frown and raised eyebrow folds the skin in the same places. Over the years, and as skin naturally loses some of its bounce, those folds can start to show as lines around the eyes, forehead and mouth. They are a normal part of a life well lived.
What SNAP-8 does
SNAP-8 is part of a family of peptides developed for the look of expression lines. Applied in a serum, it is used to help those lines look softer and skin look smoother. It is a cosmetic ingredient, so it works gently on the skin's surface appearance, and it does not change how your face moves.
How it differs from other peptides
Peptides each have their own job. In the Vellumia Signature Facial Serum:
- SNAP-8 focuses on the appearance of expression lines.
- GHK-Cu, a copper peptide, helps improve the look of firmness and texture.
- Hyaluronic acid isn't a peptide. It helps skin hold moisture, so it feels hydrated and looks plumper.
How to use it
Apply 2–3 drops of serum to clean, dry skin on your face and neck, avoiding the eyes. Let it absorb, then follow with moisturiser, and SPF during the day. Consistency matters more than quantity.
Try a small amount first if you are new to a product. If you have concerns about your skin, ask your pharmacist or doctor.
